Whilst the walled garden is open all year round free of charge, it is also possible to book organised group visits throughout the year or to hire the venue for a wedding reception.
Group visits comprise generally an introductory talk about the history of the walled garden and the background to the project, a conducted tour of the project, and finally refreshments which range from tea and biscuits to a full cream tea. Normal duration is about two hours and can be morning, afternoon or evening; catering for groups of between 15 to 50 people. Key points of interest are: history, restoration, gardening and wildlife.
Wedding receptions have become a regular summer feature within the walled garden. St Peter’s Church is within walking distance and parking is available within the site and the rose garden provides a perfect backdrop for the photographs. The centre grassed area in the walled garden allows plenty of room for the marquee of choice.
