The Elford Hall Garden Project has, from the outset, been entirely volunteer run. Almost all of the restoration work and ALL of the gardening and general maintenance has been done by volunteers and the site is currently maintained by a group of 20 or so dedicated souls who give their time and skills freely and generously (see photo above). Our volunteers work at their own pace and on tasks they choose for themselves. We find that this keeps everyone happy and gives people ‘ownership’ of the project! Volunteers come as often as they wish and stay for as long as they feel able, so volunteering at the garden can be as easy or as demanding as they like. Our volunteering days are from 9.30am till 4pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. These are good days to visit as you might get shown around or invited for a cuppa!
We need volunteers to help to keep this garden looking cared for. We are always happy to welcome new recruits!!
